When you set up overtime, you need to select how you want to track the overtime.

There are three options:

  • Each day individually

  • Hours exceeding default working pattern

  • Don't count overtime

Each day individually

Sage HR looks at each day individually. If hours in the day exceed hours in the default working pattern, then they will count as overtime.

Hours exceeding the default working pattern

Sage HR counts the total hours within the timesheet period. Any hours exceeding this number will count as overtime.

Don't count overtime

When you select this option, Sage HR hides information about overtime. Even if an employee works more than their working pattern, Sage HR won't count the extra hours and won't show them separately as "overtime".
