Employee permissions is where you control what employees can edit in their profile.

You can also edit the 'Employee' permission role to further control what employees can or can't access in Sage HR.

Control what fields an employee can edit on their profile

  1. Click your name in the top-right-hand corner, then click Settings.

  2. On the settings menu, click Permissions, then click Employees.

On this page, you can control whether employees can edit their:

  • Nationality

  • Profile picture

  • Date of birth visibility

Further customisation to employee permissions

Employee users are automatically assigned as 'Employee' in your list of permission roles.

You can further configure what this 'Employee' role can do or access via Settings > Permissions > Permissions > Select Employee.

For example, if you want an employee user to be able to see other employees in the Company Directory, rather than just themselves.

Below are some examples of permissions you can configure that would be relevant for a typical employee user:

  • Upload documents

  • View documents

  • Access to other employee profiles

  • Access emergency contacts

  • Add time off requests

  • Cancel time off requests

  • Edit time off requests

  • View time off details

๐Ÿ“ŽNOTE: Some permissions you will see listed that are only relevant for when you add the Core HR and Leave Management modules.

For more details on how to edit permissions of roles, take a look at our guide, Configure permissions of your roles within Sage HR.
